The Youth Office is excited to announce the brand new CROSS+ WALK ministry!
Each letter of our new logo stands for an important component of Youth Ministry…Christ-centered, Relationships, Outreach, Service, Support, Worship, Advocacy, Leadership, and Knowledge. We hope to encompass each and every one of those aspects in the programming that we have in place.
If you are in the 6th through 12th grade, you are already members and are invited to come to one or all of our events. Our hope is to empower you to live as disciples of Jesus, to help you become responsible participants in our faith community, and to assist in your personal and spiritual growth.
For our Jr. High students (6th–8th grades) we have a new curriculum…one that is in compliance with diocesan standards, yet is fun and easy to learn about our faith. We have “Social Time” planned for the 6th & 7th graders and for our 8th grade students some events in conjunction with our high school ministry.
And we didn’t forget about the high school students. We have a totally new focus for our Sunday nights. While we will still have food, music, games, small groups, skits, videos, and such, our lessons will all center on the Sunday readings and how they apply to your life. There are some brand new things this year like APeX Ministries and we’ll bring back some well-loved events like Trunk or Treat and the Christmas Dance. Our 28th year of Living Stations will begin with rehearsals in January…and all 8th graders are eligible to participate this year! J
For everyone there will be many service events, socials, leadership opportunities, and time for prayer and worship together. Our YM team is in place not only to educate you, but to be there when you want to celebrate an accomplishment or need a shoulder to cry on when life is getting you down. We are working together so that everyone knows you are an important part of the church…not just in the future, but right now today!
So many teens have told us that they wished they had joined us sooner. Don’t make that same mistake. Join in and give us a try. What have you got to lose?
